The popular Opera Festival Rocks heavy metal concerts continue at the Savonlinna Opera Festival next summer. The heavyweights of melodic death metal, Children of Bodom, and internationally acclaimed trash metal line-up Lost Society will shake the thick walls of the Olavinlinna Castle on Sunday 22 July. Ticket sales have started this morning at Lippupiste web store and ticket agents and the Opera Festival box office.
Over the last 20 years, Children of Bodom has established itself as a leading voice of the Finnish heavy metal scene. Today, it is one of the top selling Finnish metal bands of all time. Lost Society, founded in 2010, is famed for its explosive, high-energy live performances.
Heavy metal concerts are already a tradition at the Opera Festival. Last year’s concert with Amorphis, Stratovarius and Stam1na sold out in record time.
The concert begins on 22 July at 7pm. The castle gates open one hour earlier.
